These terms apply to your use of mileprice.com. By using the site you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use it. The site is free and needs no account.

Estimates, not quotes or advice

Every cost on MilePrice is an estimate for planning, worked out from EPA fuel economy ratings and EIA prices. Your real costs depend on how and where you drive, the weather, your car and the prices you actually pay. In most states the gas price is our own estimate from regional data, and is marked as one.

Nothing on the site is financial, purchasing, tax or legal advice. Check any figure that matters to a decision before you rely on it.

No warranty

We work to keep the figures accurate and current, but the site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose. Source data can contain errors or be revised, and the site may sometimes be unavailable.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MilePrice and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything on it.

Our content and the data

The fuel economy and price data behind the site is published by U.S. government agencies and is in the public domain. The site's text, design, logo and calculators, and the way it combines and presents that data, are ours.

You're welcome to link to any page, share results, and quote individual figures with a link back. Please don't copy the site or large parts of it, or fetch its pages automatically at a rate that burdens it.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site in a way that breaks the law, disrupts it or other people's use of it, or tries to reach parts of it that aren't public.

Links and advertising

The site links to other websites, such as its data sources, and shows ads from Google and its partners. We don't control those sites or ads and aren't responsible for them, and an ad is not an endorsement. How advertising uses cookies is explained in our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
